Stan Butler named President of Heights Finance Corporation

PEORIA, Ill.  (07-03-14) Heights Finance Corporation is pleased to announce that Stan Butler has been named President of the company, effectively immediately. Butler replaces Tim Stanley, who will continue to serve as Heights' CEO and Chief Operating Officer for MidCountry Financial Corp., Heights' holding company.

Butler's career with Heights began in July 2003, when he joined the company as its Controller. Later that same year, he was promoted to Treasurer and, as the company grew, to Chief Financial Officer in December 2006. His most recent promotion came in April 2010, when he was named Chief Operating Officer, a role he will continue to maintain while also serving as President.

"Stan has a proven ability to lead and respond to changing market conditions with a sense of responsibility and focus that will drive our company's continued success," said Stanley. "He has built and managed highly successful teams within the organization, while creating numerous relationships in the community through his active civic and professional involvement. Previously, Butler was with Westinghouse Federal Bank, where he served as Executive Vice President; at the national accounting firm of KPMG Peat Marwick; and an executive within the manufacturing and technology sectors. He is past president of the Peoria Symphony Orchestra's (PSO) board of directors and currently serves as a member of the PSO Foundation Board, is a director of the Peoria Zoological Society, a former president of the Rotary Club of Peoria, and a recipient of the 40 Leaders Under 40 Award given by InterBusiness Issues Magazine. Butler is also active with American Financial Services Association, a national trade association for the consumer credit industry, where he serves on its Independents Section Advisory Board.
