Award recognizes military banking division for extraordinary support of employees in military

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (09-05-12) In recognition of its continued commitment to employees called to active duty, or currently serving in the U.S. military, Pioneer Services, a Division of MidCountry Bank, was recently presented with the Extraordinary Employer Support (EES) Award. The company received the 2012 EES Award at the Annual Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR)/DoD award dinner Aug. 24, 2012, in Jefferson City, Mo.

ESGR, which is affiliated with the Department of Defense (DoD), promotes cooperation and understanding between Reservists and their employers. The EES Award is new for 2012, and Pioneer Services was one of the first in the country, and one of only two companies in Missouri, to receive this honor.

"As a company that serves military families, we are proud to go above and beyond to help our team members who are called to active duty," said Human Resources Director Graham Moyer. "Whether it's providing the differential between civilian or military pay for more than a year, continuing benefits for the service member and their family, or our ‘Pioneer Partners' program that provides random acts of kindness, we are always looking for ways to give back and support those who are giving so much to our nation."

The EES Award was created to recognize sustained employer support of Guard and reserve service members, and only prior recipients of the DoD Freedom Award (the highest ESGR honor) or the Pro-Patria Award are eligible for consideration by the state committee. Pioneer Services was a recipient of a 2005 Freedom Award.
