Working World: Central Georgia Business Receives Award For Excellence.
MidCountry Financial President Bob Hatcher shares his thoughts on MCFC's BBB Torch Award.

MACON, Ga. (06-17-11)

Bettering your business has proven to be beneficial in the working world, especially for the MidCountry Financial Corp.

"We set a very specific vision for our company and a very specific mission of how we accomplish that vision. We came up with a set of values and this is how we behave," says Bob Hatcher, President and CEO of MidCountry Financial Corp.

MidCountry Financial Corp is a financial services holding company with organizations that serve customers around the world.

"We try really hard to be a model corporate citizen," says Hatcher.

For Hatcher that effort starts with the employees.

"I ask every employee to carry our vision card. The card shows our company vision, mission and values," says Hatcher.

Those values helped launch MidCountry into a league of its own. Now they're reaping the benefits as the Better Business Bureau's best big business in town.

"We're very proud of winning this award," says Hatcher.

Though they only have 11 employees at their Macon headquarters; 1100 employees are stationed throughout the country with the same vision in mind.

"Integrity, fairness, honesty, excellence and compassion are the five values we try to live everyday," added Hatcher.

Bob says positive encouragement has been his greatest key to success.

"Whenever we have meetings with folks throughout our company I'll ask, 'Do you have our vision cards with you?' and if they do, they get a two dollar bill!" says Hatcher.

It's a difference that has MidCountry winning awards for excellence at branches across the nation.

"You have to live it every day. Our executive team and our board sets good examples for our team members everywhere and we try to live those values every day," added Hatcher.
