Heights Finance offices collect nearly 1,500 cell phones for "Answer the Call Now" campaign.
Money raised from recycling will benefit combat-injured service members.

Peoria, Ill. (06-25-09) The Heights Finance branch offices showed their support for the men and women of the Armed Forces by taking part in Answer the Call Now, a nationwide campaign that honored military service during National Military Appreciation Month in May by raising money for those injured in the line of duty.

Tim Stanley, President and CEO of Heights Finance said, "This project presented a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate our focus at Heights Finance: people helping people. What a great way to honor those in military service, to honor our 'green' initiatives by properly recycling cell phones, and to provide much-needed support for those injured in combat. It was a win-win team effort!"

The phones will be sent to Recellular, which pays anywhere from 50 cents to $150 per phone, depending on type and condition. The money received from Recellular will then go to USA Cares, a non-profit that assists service members and their families. In this case, all of the funds raised will benefit their Combat Injured Program, which assists those suffering Traumatic Brain Injury or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
