MidCountry Bank phone recycling drive helps USA Cares support our troops
Program kicks off the bank's super-convenient mobile banking

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (09-25-12) Now you can safely get rid of those old cell phones you've got stashed in the drawer, and support our troops. MidCountry Bank is collecting and recycling old/discarded mobile communications devices (phones, tablets, etc.), with proceeds going to USA Cares, a non-profit organization that assists military families. USA Cares will receive from 50 cents to $150 per phone, depending on the type and condition of the donated device. The collection program is calling attention to launch MidCountry Bank's new mobile banking program.

Everyone has cell phones lying around
“This is a great way to provide a value-added service to our customers,” says MidCountry Bank Senior Vice President Robin Roberts, who assures customers that the data on each phone will be completely cleaned off when it is recycled.

Donations can be dropped off at collection boxes located in any MidCountry Bank office, now through the end of September. All donations will then be forwarded to the recycler, after which a donation check will be presented to USA Cares, Inc. As a further incentive, MidCountry Bank is giving away a limited number of free promotional screen cleaners that can be placed on the back of a cell phone, where they are easily accessible when needed.
